Halloween is around the corner! Once again this year, Zervas will be supporting UNICEF by distributing boxes for trick-or-treating. Collecting for UNICEF helps our kids help kids in other countries around the world get basic needs like food, clean water and education.
What does UNICEF do in our country? In the US, UNICEF provides American youth opportunities for them to advocate, fundraise and volunteer on behalf of their peers around the world. Through UNICEF trick-or-treating, young Americans contribute to UNICEF’s lifesaving work and learn more about the issues of child survival and international development.
How long has UNICEF been around? UNICEF began after World War II as a tiny operation supplying starving girls and boys in Europe, the Middle East and China with dried milk and nutritional supplements. Today, UNICEF works for the survival, protection and development of children in 190 countries and territories around the world.
Last year, the Zervas children collected $1,107.10 for UNICEF in one night — Halloween. This is an increase of more than $200 from the previous year’s collection! Let’s try again this year to show that the Zervas community cares about kids around the world! Thank you for your support!
