Co-President’s Letter: February 2014

Dear Zervas Families:
It is hard to believe that February vacation is almost here. It has been a very busy time at Zervas! Thanks to Amy Behrens and Jacqueline Butera for organizing a fantastic Dynamic Diversity Night. We had many families attend and Amy and Jacqui led us through some very thoughtful activities. Jacqui and Amy are hoping to organize another family event some time in the spring, and we hope to see even more families the next time.

Mark your calendar for a couple of events coming up in February. On February 26th, the PTO is sponsoring an informational evening about summer camp which is being organized by our own Mike Stern. At the end of February, Cindy Kaplan is generously offering an eight part parenting series to the Zervas community. We hope many of you are able to attend this important series. The Zervas Auction is well into the planning stages as well, with the live event to be held on March 29th at the Windsor Club. The auction committee has plans for a fabulous evening. Please consider donating something to the auction as it is one of our most important fundraisers.

We are looking for a number of volunteers to help out with PTO events. We are still looking for a couple of people to take over the kindergarten soccer program, although we are fortunate to have a family willing to take on the role of equipment managers in the spring. We also need someone to help organize our Newton Serves event which takes place on April 27th. This is a day when we plan some outdoor projects to beautify the school, and we need an individual who can be available that day to help organize these activities. Finally, the Zervas Fair will take place on May 17th and we need some more people to help plan and manage the fair. Please let us know if you can help us with any of these activities.

Best,
Helen and Amy
