Vacation week fun for families with young children

Playspace is the perfect place to fend off winter ‘cabin fever’ and meet neighbors and friends. Create art projects in the cheery, fully-stocked art room with Arts in the Parks teachers. Run, jump and play in the gym with riding toys, trucks and balls.

Extended vacation week hours: Tuesday, December 27 through Thursday, December 29: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Friday, December 30: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Later this spring you can spend two Wednesday afternoons with us in our Exploring Nature at Crystal Lake class, or enjoy one of our Saturday morning Soccer classes or our Tuesday afternoon T-Ball class.

February School Vacation Week at the New Art Center

Wonders of the World, February School Vacation Week at the New Art Center, February 22-25, 9:00-3:30pm daily. Grades K-5. Historic Newton Events -CAST IRON CHEF: COOKING WITH CORN

Thursday, February 24, 2 pm CAST IRON CHEF: COOKING WITH CORN In the past, families would have dried and stored their corn at harvest time, then eaten it through the winter. Come learn how corn was ground and cooked, and what kids might have done with the leftovers. We will make an edible snack out of corn, as well as a small toy for each child to take home.

Celebrate President’s Day at Historic Newton with this fun, hands-on family program. We will read Abe Lincoln: The Boy Who Loved Books by Kay Winter, then we will make our own versions of Honest Abe’s legendary black top hat that you can wear home and show off to your family and friends!
