January has flown by, partly because the weather has been so mild and we can all tolerate being outside.
During the past month our Respect for Human Differences co-chairs Amy Behrens and Julie Robinson put together a Dynamic Diversity Night where many families participated in a conversation about how we identify ourselves and how that shapes our experiences. Thank you to our co-chairs and to the families who came to participate in this special evening.
The annual January Classroom Clean Up Day had a terrific turn out this year, despite the snow. Thank you to the many parents and kids who volunteered and spent part of their Saturday cleaning the Zervas classrooms. A special thank you to Kathryn Klassman and Pamela Galowitz for co-chairing this event.
The Variety show took place on January 25th for grades K-3 and again on February 1st for grades 4-5. As always, it’s a fun and entertaining evening. Thank you to Julie Goetzler for coordinating this event and to Mr. Mignone for running two nights of the event, and thank you to all of the families who participated and came to cheer on the performers.
Monday, February 6th – Zervas is co-hosting the “Simplicity Parenting” lecture presented by educator and consultant Kim John Payne. The lecture will take place at Mason Rice from 7:00 -9:00 pm.
