Co-Presidents’ Letter

Happy March.

Wow, what a great event the Spring Auction was last weekend. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. The evening was a fabulous success thanks to the very hard work of the auction committee and its co-chairs Heidi Gambino, Helen Haley and Erin Jospe. The funds raised at the annual auction are a significant part of the PTO”s annual income. A special thanks goes out to the auction committee; specifically, Liz Beckett, Alicia Collins, Debora Compton, Elaine Goldberg, Lyla Goldstein, Julie and David Goosman, Kathleen Murray, Karen Poley, Jillian Queen, Aimee Sprung, and Priya Wagner. We would also like to thank the parents who coordinated the classroom baskets, those of you who made donations and all who attended the auction. We couldn’t have done it without your enthusiasm. Finally, we would like to thank the Zervas staff for their donations and support and to Mike Stern who successfully encouraged and motivated the bidding.

Last week the three principal finalist candidates came to visit Zervas and were able to meet with the parent and teacher communities. Thank you to the parents who came out to meet the candidates. We are told the new principal will be selected shortly.

Also last week, Nstar came to present to the students in grades 2-5 about energy efficiency and kicked off a two week lightbulb fundraiser. This is a unique fundraising opportunity because Zervas will get to keep 100% of the money received from all orders placed until March 16th. Please consider ordering some lightbulbs and helping Zervas!
