Dear Zervas Families,
It is hard to believe its March already, and that soon we’ll see flowers budding and the many other signs of Spring! February flew by, with both a vacation week and two snow days during the month.
As we begin March, we would like to point out several events that are right around the corner. The Zervas Silent Auction is this Saturday, March 9th from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the Windsor Club. It should be a lot of fun, so please sign up to come if you haven’t already. Tickets are available at the door for $45 per person. If you don’t plan to come to the auction, or prefer to point and click, please check out the online option that will run through March 7th (please contact Jillian Queen at jillian_queen@hotmail.com with any questions).
As you probably know, Newton is holding a special election next Tuesday, March 12th to decide on the proposed override. We are looking for hall monitors, who will be able to direct voters to enter the school through the rear of the building. Please e-mail volunteer@zervaspto.org if you are able to spare 45 minutes that morning sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
March is also the time that we gear up for Kindergarten Soccer – a program that is open to current kindergartners and pre-kindergartners throughout Newton. Registration is now open, so please sign up if you haven’t done so already, and spread the word to your friends in other Newton neighborhoods, as it’s a great program they won’t want to miss out on! Registration is available at kindergartensoccer.org.
And finally, March is the time of year that we start planning for committee and PTO Board openings for next year. We’d love to hear from you if you are interested in getting more involved in the PTO. You can always e-mail us with any questions or comments at pto@zervaspto.org.
Hope to see you at the auction!
Joanne and Helen
