Dear Zervas Families:

We hope you had a wonderful school vacation week, and are enjoying the relatively mild weather.

It was great to catch up with many of you at our most recent Parent Social Coffee last week. Thank you to Erika Pond for hosting everyone. Mark your calendars for our next Parent Social Coffee on Thursday, March 10 starting at 8:30 am hosted by Kirsten Fertuck. Moms and dads are welcome to stop by! Dr. Beck will host her next Principal Coffee on April 12 at the Waban Library.

Tomorrow, March 3 at 7:30 to 9 pm, Zervas will be hosting its first Parenting Workshop featuring Newton educator Amy Kelly who will explain how to reinforce at home the social and emotional learning techniques being taught at school this year. Join other Zervas parents to learn how to create a calm, supportive, and encouraging environment at home. Thank you to Cindy Kaplan for planning and coordinating this workshop. If you are unable to attend the workshop this week, Amy will be running similar workshops at the Newton Education Center from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, March 15 and Thursday, April 7.

If you have not already done so, mark your calendar and book a sitter for our Zervas at CARRibbean Fundraising Auction on Saturday, April 9 from 7-11 pm featuring tropical-inspired food and drinks (including a surprise specialty cocktail), music, and the most sought-after items available at the live party only. Stay tuned for more information in our Z notes about purchasing tickets to attend the live event and for our teacher raffle. And get ready for our online auction, which goes live on March 28.

Also save the date for a Family Cultural Event co-sponsored by the Zervas Community Connections and Creative Arts & Sciences committees to take place on Sunday, May 22 from 5-7 pm featuring potluck dishes from the many different cultures that are part of our diverse community, entertainment, and great conversation.

And looking forward to our 2016-17 school year, mark Saturday, October 15 on your calendar for our 2016 Destination Dinner.
