Dear Zervas Families,
Happy New Year! We hope you had time over the holidays to relax with friends and family.
We’d like to thank all the Zervas families who donated books to the Library Book Drive. A total of 75 books were purchased and dedicated to various teacher and staff members! Lou Bonegio and Becky Kinney deserve a huge thank you for organizing the book drive. What a great success!
The teachers were overwhelmed by all the delicious cookies that Zervas families provided for the Holiday Cookie Swap. In a matter of 48 hours, we went from being worried that there weren’t enough donations to receiving a record number of cookies. Thank you. Bindiya Stancampiano does a wonderful job organizing the Cookie Swap, as well as all the other Teacher Appreciation events.
Zervas generosity also showed in the Toys for Tots Toy drive. An impressive number of toys were donated in this first year that Zervas participated. Thanks to Amanda Zurick for her fantastic energy in arranging the Toy Drive.
Try to find some time this Wednesday morning, January 11th to swing by Barbara Talvitie’s house for the first Parent Coffee of 2017. Enjoy a cup of coffee, a pastry, and the opportunity to connect with other parents. It starts at 8:30, and Barbara’s address is 1446 Beacon Street in Waban.
We hope that you will plan to come to the Family Game Night on Wednesday, January 25th at 6:30 at the Carr school. Eureka, a toy store in Brookline, will bring a lot of games for parents to play with their kids. They will also have games for purchase if you fall in love with one of the games you try. The PTO will provide dessert. If you have any questions, please reach out to Matt Goldstein.
The Auction Committee is hard at work organizing the big event, which is on Saturday, March 25th. One of the only annual social events for Zervas parents, the Auction will wow you with delicious food and drink and exciting auction items. Come get your Mardi Gras on!
Speaking of the Auction, the committee would love for you to donate items! The items that raise the most money for our school are donated by Zervas families. Ideas include themed dinners (similar to a Destination Dinner), mom’s/dad’s nights out, cocktail parties, kids’ playdates, sports or theater tickets, use of a ski condo or other vacation property, or gift certificates, especially any that you can secure through work or other connections. Please send a description of any community-related donations to Wendy Feiner and other donations to Craig Kapilow.
If you have any questions or suggestions, do not hesitate to contact us at pto@zervaspto.org.
Thank you,
Alicia Collins & Jessica Davis
